Also in many other product fields, it is has become very difficult to obtain permits for animal studies. Through intensive research and global studies, the range of in vitro methods could be numerically but also qualitatively extended enormously in the last years. Today a reliable reproducibility with appropriate in vivo studies exists.

Thus, in vitro toxicology represents a very important field which will become of enormous relevance in the next few years.
