For Genotoxicity testing of Nanomaterials there are specific requirements detailed in the REACH Appendix R7-1 for nanoforms:

• the dispersion of the nanomaterial should be monitored to ensure that the cells are exposed to a sufficient effective dose under in vitro conditions
• it is highly advised to verify the cellular uptake by appropriate methods

During the last months we have put a lot of thoughts and research into this topic. We have successfully developed an appropriate approach for our current projects.

As there is a huge diversity in nanomaterials, each test item calls for an individual experimental methodology. So if genotoxicity testing of nanomaterials is something you are concerned with, we would be more than happy to share our experience and discuss a specific strategy for you.

To the delight of our staff the latest addition to our technical equipment is a brand-new BBQ (on top of a GC-MS/MS and another LC-MS/MS, of course). Whereas the BBQ is for internal use only (and has been inaugurated already), the GC-MS/MS (Triple Quadrupole) and LC-MS/MS (Triple Quadrupole) are ready to use and waiting for new analytical challenges.
