Daphnia magna is a sentinel to detect threats to the environment

Daphnia magna is a crustacean representative in freshwater ecosystems. It serves as a sentinel to detect threats to the environment. In the Acute Immobilization test (OECD 202) the effect of a chemical on the mobility of daphnids (immobilization) is evaluated after 48 h of exposure. In the Reproduction study (OECD 211) the effect of a chemical on the reproductive output of Daphnia magna is assessed.
